How Selective Intervention Works in Chrome 146

Chrome 146 allows the browser to selectively revoke individual permissions (not all permissions at once) when signals indicate misuse or prolonged non-use. Key points:

Granularity: Before v146, intervention was all-or-nothing per origin. Now Chrome can revoke just camera but leave notifications untouched.
Abuse signals: High-frequency prompting, user-reported abuse, rapid grant → use → abandon patterns.
Inactivity: A granted permission that hasn't been exercised in an extended period may be proactively revoked.
High-risk permissions: Camera, microphone, and geolocation are higher-priority intervention targets due to privacy sensitivity.
Recovery: Sites recover by detecting the revoked state via permissions.query() and surfacing a contextual in-UI re-prompt — not a bare getUserMedia() call.
